A stackable floor seat made from 100% biodegradable materials. The constraints for this project disallowed the use of wood or plastic, and required the seat to be less than a cubic foot in size. Its form and stacking capabilities were inspired by human vertebrae. The seat is made with paper pulp. Discarded paper is blended into a paste and laid over a cardboard structure. Its low material cost and biodegradability make the Pulp Seat ideal for large gatherings as small, inexpensive seating.
