Märke
An assistive device that allows artists with upper-limb differences to hold pencils and paintbrushes.
Prosthetic devices are not ideal for making art.
Prosthetic arms are unnecessary for low-stress
activities like painting and drawing. They can
be heavy, cumbersome, and uncomfortable
after long periods of working. They are also not
specially equipped to hold tools like brushes and
pencils.
Process Models
Form explorations through physical modeling and fitting tests with simulated residual limbs.
Different Ways of Holding Pencils
The cuff uses an adjustable velcro strap, fitting to
a range of residual limb sizes.
The front piece provides a way for the user to rest
their limb on a drawing surface.
